The school website states: 'At Wisbech Grammar School we recognise that a smooth transition into senior school helps pupils make flying start and that's why pupils get a visit to their promary school by a member of the Middle School team. The year start with an adventure- at ManorAdventure Shropshire- a week long activity experience where friendshipa are formed confidence is fostered and team work developed. We consider it such a great way to start at WGS that the whole year group attends.'

The school positively encourages pupils to develop new skills and interests and monitor their progression in order to provide a full picture of their abilities and talents.

Each term children can select new activities or continue to master skills in those previously chosen. Pupils continue to have the opportunity for individual instrumental lessons and can sit Trinity College Music Exams. ​

Many clubs and activities support classroom learning, such as Art Club for those taking Art at GCSE or Geography Help for those who need extra support. Other clubs offer myriad opportunities to extend life and learning beyond the confines of the curriculum, such as Astronomy Club, Archaeology, Science Award Scheme, Debating, Philosophy, Photography and Young Engineers club, Costume Club and Food competitions. As pupils progress through the school they often have the opportunity to lead many of these groups and clubs.

Of course, the opportunities to engage in Sports activities abound, with Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Cycling, Badminton, Table tennis and Jogging club. Many of our pupils compete at regional and national level competitions as well as take part in regular inter-school events.

And above that, there is ample opportunity for adventure for pupils from 3rd – 6th Form with The Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemes.
