Entrance Criteria
School: Torquay Girls' Grammar School
To gain a place in Year 7 at the start of the academic year students need to have taken the Torbay 11+ examination. The same tests are set by each of the selective schools in Torbay and are scheduled at the same time. The exam is CEM format and tests assess verbal ability (comprehension, vocabulary and verbal reasoning), numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.

The school's extra-curricular opportunities extend from clubs, teams and 150 plus trips provided annually. Trips locally to the Marine Aquarium or Eden project, trips nationally such as to the Old Bailey or Globe Theatre, and international trips which have seen students ride horses across Mongolia, visit art museums in New York, scuba dive in Cuba, walk across glaciers in Iceland and ride camels in India.
