School Extracurricular

The extracurricular timetable changes termly to allow seasonal activities to be included, but it always includes a good mix of subject-based events, sports activities and musical ensembles. There is also the opportunity to experience activities that are completely different – for example the debating society, where we compete against each other and neighbouring schools.

In addition there are many activities linked to the performing arts.

A ski trip for years 10-13 runs every 2 years where possible, most recently travelling to New England in America after many years on the slopes of Europe.

Year 9 have a residential week each year, and pupils are able to choose which residential they go on.

There are also three “Activity Days” throughout the year. These allow departments to spend time on extended projects and develop new skills and they also give departments time to take whole year groups out of school for visits to, for example, universities, historical sites or the theatre.
