Caistor Grammar School

The school website states: 'Caistor Grammar School is a community where we work hard to enable our students to make the most of their ability, to be happy and to be fulfilled. We help our students gain an enviable academic education, to learn practical skills and to develop their power to reason. Learning, for us, goes beyond examination results. We promote learning to foster an understanding of the other aspects of life: social, moral, spiritual, aesthetic and physical.'

Our Catchment area is 6.5 miles as the crow flies from the Post Office address point of the school to the Post Office address point of the applicant. Lincolnshire County Council provides free transport for students in Year 7 to Year 11 Academies on the same basis as for students in LA Community schools. For us this means there are free school buses for students who live in the parishes of Bigby, Brocklesby, Grasby, Great Limber, Holton le Moor, Normanby le Wold, North Kelsey, Owmby, Rothwell, Searby, Somerby, South Kelsey and Swallow. Sixth Form students in these villages have to pay a contribution towards their transport costs. The Local Authority also provides a bus to bring children from Keelby. A service bus operates from Market Rasen at a cost and we are currently investigating school transport from villages close to Market Rasen. A private company organises transport from the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area, from Brigg and from other parts of North and North East Lincolnshire, at a cost.
