The school website states: 'Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is an 11-18 wholly-selective Academy Grammar School responsible for its own admissions. AGGS is proud to be part of the Bright Futures Educational Trust. Being part of the Trust provides a wide range of opportunities for staff and students to work with schools across the Bright Futures network.  In return, Bright Futures provides them with outstanding support which helps staff and students alike to achieve at the highest level.  They were one of the first schools in the country to be designated a National Teaching School and are a lead school in a number of subjects, including mathematics, science and modern foreign languages.

‘The catchment area’ is defined as an 8 mile radius from the main entrance of the School.  ‘The distance’ will be measured in a direct line from the Applicant’s permanent place of residence to the school, using property co-ordinates provided through a combination of the Trafford Local Land and Property Gazetteer (BS7666), Royal Mail Postal Addresses Information and information provided by other Local Authorities. In the case of a child living in a block of flats the distance will be measured in the same manner.
